Here's hoping someone can offer some positive guidance. I am looking to have installed an automatic (or similar) levelling system on my new Auto-Trail 840D Lo-Line Alko Tag Axle unit. This may be a fully electrical system of combined hydraulic/electrical. Frm my enquiries, air-compression does not appear to be a viable option. I would be most interested to here from anyone who has information on available systems, prices and installers. Many thanks.

There are a number of options here and largely depends on how deep your pockets are.
Leveltronic - an electrical system made in Italy and supplied and fitted in UK by Towtal - price around £2500 depending on weight it has to lift and payload available on your MH
Southdownmotors - fit an hydraulic system that is supposed to be the bees knees - approx £5000 - they were offering a £500 discount so maybe it is still on.
Goldschmitt of Germany offer a variety of systems (as fitted by manufacturers such as N+B, Hymer, Frankia etc.) they offer hydraulic systems from 5000 Euros
Keep me posted on your progress as we keep swaying back and forward with shall we shan't we - It is a lot of money for something you can solve with a brick or two.

Levelling a tag axle is a bit more tricky sometimes than a single axled motorhome. I looked at the levelling systems but decided the money was better spent on other things.
I level the rear twin wheel with planks of wood that were free!
I was determined to have the utmost ease with my satellite TV. If you find getting level as much as a hassle as I would find tuning in the TV, then I would recommend getting the levelling devices to ensure setting up on site is easy.

How efficient are they - how long to level? Could you change a wheel without jacking ? When you said spares - was this because of unreliability or poor fitting in the first place?
