Hi, just picked up our MH today from storage and I have noticed the bottom of the habitation door seems to be bowing out. The van is only 18 months old . Has any any one else come across this ?

Cheers Russ

Mine did that from Day 1 Russ.

I queried it, but was assured that it wouldn't leak or be draughty and it's OK.

I don't think it's the door so much as the van doorway being a tiny bit out of true. In my case it looks a lot worse than it is - it's only a couple of mm, but looks a lot more when viewed edge on.

Hope this helps

My Autocirrus does that too. I am taking it in next week whilst it is still under warranty for a few jobs that need doing and I have mentioned this on the list. I don't know whether they will rectify it but will let you know.

I think it adds to the numerous drafts I have in the van.

Hi Russ, Just got my van back. They have re-hung the door but didn't seem to think it was a big thing. Can't wait to get away middle of next week now.

Hope your prob is sorted. Joy

Hi Russ

I had to take my van in yesterday, and mentioned my door again to the workshop manager.

He reckons it's OK, and says they are not the easiest thing in the world to fit perfectly, since the body of the van only needs to be out a fraction and it will be impossible to hang the door with a perfect shut line.

He said if it doesn't let the wet in, forget about it. A lot of doors are like it, but most people don't notice unless they do find wet in the footwell.

Hope this helps

Hi Dave, I don't know what your door is like but what concerns me is that the actual door is begining to kick out at the bottom. When you look in the passenger mirror you can see its out by looking at the decals on the side they look out. We stayed in north devon last weekend (the surf was crap ) and there was a draft coming in through the bottom of the door. My wife says I should leave it but what worries me is when I come to sell it. I don't like to complain to my dealer as I have just had a new clutch fitted under warrenty and I feel like I'm always moaning.

Thanks Russ

Don't complain then Russ. Very Happy Very Happy

Go in and ask his opinion. That way you are still sort of complaining, but (as the great Kenny would have said) "in the NICEST possible way."

Mine is nowhere near as bad as that, though it is obvious if you know where to look. Probably about 5mm out at the most, and only in one corner. It doesn't sem to let the draught in either.

Cheers Very Happy
