I wonder if any of you very nice people could shed some light on a problem I am having with my lap top.

I am not sure that I can make myself clear but I will try so here goes….

Internet explorer stops working when I try to do certain tasks, normally whilst emailing. For example every time I click on a link in an email the internet explorer stops working and a little box appears in the middle of the screen informing me that windows is attempting to fix the error followed by internet explorer is restarting. Then as if by magic my home page (Google – other providers are available) appears. The email I have been working on has been doing is lost for ever, which is very frustrating. The same thing happens when I try to attach a file or photo to an email.

Internet explorer works fine at all other times. Has any one got any ideas of what I can do to correct this?

Thanks for your time.

Keith

Hi Keith

I can't answer your technical query but I find that creating my message in Wordpad before cutting and pasting into an email covers any last minute problem.
If anything should happen when putting the email together I still have the original in Wordpad to cut and paste again.

It could possibly be

Easy fix is don't use Internet Explorer, change to Firefox....that prob doesn't happen in Firefox. Just download and install

, then set it as Default brower when it asks. Internet Explorer will still be there if really needed, but will only open when you tell it to manually. You can also import all your IE Favourites across to Firefox, so you wont lose anything.

Keith,

I too was having problems with IE7 and e-mails, so I went to Firefox and all is okay now, however, I am on XP and not Vista.

Jock.
