We use a normal hair dryer in the motorhome whilst we are hooked up to the electric.
The only thing we do is ensure the heating system and the kettle are both switched off. We've managed to trip our electrics once by forgetting to turn the kettle off first.
I hope you have many happy holidays in your new motorhome. Welcome to the forum.

I agree with Dave certainly wait until you decide what sort of camping you do but don't buy a 12v hairdryer they are useless. We got an inverter and bought a 470 watt travel hairdryer which works really well and doesn't drain the batteries as much as we expected.

At over 40 amps small capacity batteries will last around 1.5 hrs providing the wiring and fuses will stand it) only if fully charged and usually they are not.
Large wattage inverters need to be connected directly to the battery.

Buon giorno,
managed to find details of our hair dryer.
Braun Compact Foldable - Model OG 700 - 550 Watts.
Please don't ask where or when I bought it - must have been several donkeys' years ago.
Says Made in Brazil on the box. Mmmm! Braun - Brazil, Dr. Mengel and the Boys from Brazil?
Happy Hairdrying.
saluti,
eddied

Non of you are taking this seriously, you don't realise the enormity of this. THIS IS THE ONLY DECIDING FACTOR TO WHICH MOBILEHOME IS PURCHASED!!!
A Class, Van, rear door side door, made up bed pull down bed, 1.9td, 2.3 petrol, LPG gas conversion, these pail into insignificance when stacked up against helmet hair (we've been hair before with bikes and crash helmets)
It's the hairdryer that will swing the choice.
Every one knows the answer is 42!!! The question was can I use my hairdryer here???
I can empathise Wilton. We are still waiting to take delivery of our first van and Maggie asked me this evening if a hair dryer could be used. As I don't have much need for one I was tempted to say a pair of scissors would be cheaper and would certainly use less power - but that sort of remark would probably have me sleeping in a tent outside the van!
PS Football fans might invite Alex Ferguson along to provide the hairdryer treatment!

I like Doreen's hair when it hasn't been properly dried it has a bedraggled look (the word is pronounced BED-raggled)
Seriously our solution is to bring a small but powerful hairdrier which we use off EHU or in the shower block.
If neither is available she does have a Braun gas brush. I just have to remember if its been the gas brush (or just a towel) to compliment her on how nice her hair is. Works for me
