Hi

My TV just went bang and smoke everywhere. Managed to avert a fire, but now need a new TV. I'm near Nimes in the south of France. Just need a 14 inch, 12v/240v CRT. Can anyone suggest somewhere near to where I am that sells TVs for motorhomes? I understand the French use a different system to our PAL, so it would need to be one that has both systems, I suppose. Look forward to hearing from someone.

Many thanks

Stuart

Have a look in the hypermarkets. As long as it has a 12V input you will be OK. Just check that the box says PAL. Nearly all LCD TVs are multistandard. Doesn't need to be specific caravan/motorhome TV unless you want to pay over the odds.

Thanks. I did just that (somewhere called L Leclerc, or simmilar) and got an unknown brand, but it works fine. Only problem is that I think the power surge that followed the power cut that blew the TV has damaged other stuff. The mains circuit breaker didn't trip when the tv blew (don't know why not) and now the charging system seems to have gone on the blink and the fridge has stopped working!! Time for a trip to a Hymer dealer, I think.

Thanks again

Stuart
