creative zen mp3, audible & downloading

hi -
if anyone has any experience of solving problems with audible.co.uk software & downloading to a creative zen mp3 player I'd be very grateful.

I love listening to audio books as we travel in the motorcaravan, I've been using audible for some years, as they offer good value for such things. Had few problems early on with my old zen, but it had a small memory & recently became full. To cut long story short, now have new creative zen cobra - all singing dancing mp3 with masses of storage.

however, I can't get audible to recognise & download to it. I've spend hours on the phone to the audible helpline - they are at a loss, with nothing else to suggest.

I've tried unistalling & reinstalling the software, rolled back windows media player to version 10, run the microsoft hotfix. All of these multiple times!

The wretched software (audible manager) tells me that it is reading the mp3, then eventually tells me it's not connected after all.

To try something else I have also attempted to get windows media player to sync to the mp3 - copying without audible. I thought this was going to work, but it gave up and told me there was a hardware fault.

So, I am trying to establish whether this is a problem with the audible software, or a problem on my hard drive. I don't think it is a problem with the new creative zen cobra, as I have already replaced this once with the supplier, and it's a brand new one of the box yesterday.
