I would offer to put mine up and take piccies close up for you all to see how we do it, but I've got the khyam here in the garage and hubby has motorhome at work with him.....perhaps next time I get the two things together I'll do a 'how to' in piccies...or knowing my technical ability more of a 'how not to' with lots of laughter!

Yes mine came wednesday as well was well impressed - I seem to be having a deja vu cos am sure I posted this earlier but can't see it now.

I ordered the inner tent and ground sheet as well just cos I quite fancy sleeping in it when going away with my parents (its the snoring!!) we are going to practice putting it up this weekend in the garden.

Am just wondering how you drive back up to it once you have driven away cos am not really good at that yet and driving close to stuff specially reversing could be an issue. Shocked Shocked

Am gonna go buy the suckers from B&Q 2moz before a stampede for them happens as well.

Thanks Sue for advice on where to get it - fabbo. Laughing Laughing

Mucho mirth coming up at Loch Lomond me thinks:-

1. Dome erection

2. Driving away without taking it with me

3. Coming back and not driving over it

4. Drew is Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Could the big stones be substituted for two sossie dogs? Oh thought not!

We bought a fixing kit from skyblueleisure.co.uk for our Khyam Motordome Excelsior which basically consists of a double edged beading tape (which we leave attached to the awning channel of our fiamma wind out) & 3 plastic figure of 8 sections.

Takes less than 2 minutes to detach & drive away & same to refit.

You can drop the fiamma wind out to a reasonable height, attach the tunnel & wind back in to take up the slack....... no need for steps.

We've used this arrangement for some time now & it's coped very well with some terrible weather conditions, i've yet to see anything that gives a more secure fixing.

Useless information for those that don't have an awning channel on their wind out.............. but many do.

We also have a motordome kyham excelsiors dome we inherited it with the van. My husband didn't want to use it saying it was too much fuss. Our previous owner must have used the tennis ball through over the van method. I can tell you that was a little confusing. We thought our van was too tall for the attach it to the wind out awning method. However at the the Peterborough show someone told us that they use the channel in the awning to put the webbing too, and hey presto we bought the kit to do it and tried it out. It did take about 15 minutes, and husband was grumpy and said that it was far too long and would take to long to put up, and to much fuss to hook on every time you drive away. So I kept practising and had the drive away done within minutes. Erecting and taking down is a easier the more times you do it. Now I have to convince him that there is space to take it away on our six week trip of Spain,Portugal and France.

It is a lovely bit of kit the only critism is that it is a little on the dark side, the plus is that I have now bought an inner tent so I can put visitors in overnight, or more tempting my husband when he snores too loud?
