Back in 1999 I was looking trough the Autotrader and saw a VW Compass navigator for sale, it had only 1500miles on the clock so went and had a look and bought it! We never looked at anything else! We kept it a year and sold it with a profit!
We are now on our 6th MH and this one is for keeps!

We have been travelling to Northern Spain every year since 1978 and got sick of searching for hotels, lugging suitcases around etc. etc. Decided a long time ago that owning a motorhome would be a good idea and took the plunge two years ago. We're off to Spain again in a fortnight and looking forward to new sights & sites in France & Spain.
Hopefully next year we will be able to start to tour other countries!!

Not a MH owner yet. Hopefully in the next 6 weeks. Originally wanted to buy a narrowboat but didn't want to be tied to canals/rivers. Also not keen on crossing the Channel. MH will give us freedom. Selling up and fulltiming beckon.

I'm new to this MH malarkey but I always enjoyed touring holidays in France with the car, going from town to town and staying in B&Bs and small hotels. I just got fed up with living out of suitcases and the variable standard of accommodation and owners in some of these fleapits.

Working part time gives us the chance to skive off so it's very handy to have a day van for this as well as spectating at racing circuits.

We looked at Bongos, excellent as they are as dual purpose vans, but they were a bit too small for us and needed an awning to make them useable for a fortnight away. The workmanship on the Bongo conversions I looked at wasn't too impressive either.

Last year it seemed worth spending a bit more and going to the effort of importing a used VW T4 Westy from Germany. It's big enough (just) with a comfy bed; the Westfalia conversion makes the most of the interior space and is well put together. I can drive 400+ miles and not feel knackered. Very Happy Fantaaaastico!

Couldn't understand why anyone would want to drive around on one of those hoofing great things. Then, on holiday in Aus, wanted to visit Hunter Valley, so, very sceptically rented one for a week. Found it easier to drive than our car - seriously.

Now keep one in UK and one in NZ

Cheers
