I have just sent an e-mail to Boris regarding the LLEZ. We may now have another opportunity to ameliorate the effects of this iniquitous measure.
If its felt by all to be important, we need to get behind it!

Dear Boris,
Many congratulations for ousting Red Ken. Not before time and despite those who said you couldn’t do it.

I had an exchange of e-mails with Ken and TfL earlier this year regarding the London Low Emissions Zone and the hardship this measure was causing many people who own non-compliant vehicles and live within the boundaries of the scheme. I contacted DC on the same matter with the hope that when you came to power you would review the operation of this scheme.
Obviously you have many more pressing concerns than this one and I’m glad to see the ranks of the unemployed being swelled by ex LDA members, but, when you get a chance could you please give a thought to this matter?

Er.... I lloked at Boris' website for his campaign, and although he states that he considers the conjestion charge a poo idea.

his consideration of the LEZ is that its a valuable tool to reduce the pollution in the london area. Its unlikley that he will change the existing policy on the LEZ, the targeted vehicles and the exemptions thereto.

Which is a shame.

as I have mentioned before, I have a 8mpg RV which uses petrol and I dont have to pay yet, but my mates got a transit based work van thats diesel and he has to pay.

I must pump out more pollutants than him...... Rolling Eyes

My objection was more the fact that Boris is his name, and then all of a sudden we get the ridiculous brought in.

On another thread, there were diometrically opposed views placed in a reasoned, and logical, most of all polite way, another more worrying thread, Nuke asked for legal advice regarding something about the whole forum. its my presumption, that there may be unwanted results from other threads about to decend, and I really think that the possibility of giving someone else cause is foolhardy.

You dont need to be seriously politically active to reply to this thread.

Bear1

Well done it is definitely worth raising the issue again. The legislation was meant to target commercial vehicles coming in to the zone but just became a catch all. Boris might well take on that the people affected by the bad targeting are his electorate.

A letter is very low cost and it takes quite low numbers of letters to get their attention.

Regards

Ed
