Hi all,

I have a Hymer Camp 642 with a Waeco Cool Breeze air conditioning unit mounted on the roof top.

Currently, unless I unplug the fuse for the air conditioning unit, the main water pump seems (sounds) to be running continuously.

Has anybody experience with the Waeco Cool Breeze units? Why is this the case? Will the water pump turn itself off eventually if I let it run long enough? I am afraid of blowing another water pump...

Any input is appreciated.

PS: we had the water system serviced last week. Replaced a few frozen taps Sad

and the water pump.

your water pump will have nothing to do with your aircon ? sounds like you have leak somewhere and the pump is coming on. or its wired wrong.

Isnt the cool breeze an evaporative unit.
I seem to remember it needs a water feed. So I guess what you hear maybe is the pump filling the Waeco unit.

Thanks for all the helpful replies.

I have checked the van again and was not able to recreate the problem. But I was able to confirm the unit has it's own water tank and pump, which is getting water from the main tank.

Now there is no sounds when the aircon fuse is put back, and when starting the air condition all you can hear is the aircon-pump pumping water to the unit from the aircon-tank. At this moment everything seems to be fine.

The mechanic was however able to confirm the problem last week (I don't think he was familiar with Cool Breeze, he was fixing something else..).

Maybe it could have had something to do with too little water in the main tank and the aircon trying to fill up it's tank without the aircon itself being turned on. Pulling the fuse for the aircon was the only thing that could stop the main water pump from running then...

Will report if the problem returns Smile

PS - still looking out for an indirect evaporative unit with low electrical consumption. If one doesn't appear soon I'll be tempted to resign and do one myself.....
Mind you, just as I was getting more and more fired up to do that with loo hand driers, Dyson came up with his Airblade Sad
