Hi all
I am new to satellite systems and have been looking at the KVH Tracvision 4
System. Has anybody any experience of this and can they recommend it?
Many Thanks

Out of interest, why are you thinking of the Tracvision and not the Camos? I have the Camos dome and find it excellent.

I have just noticed that this is your first post, welcome to the Forum. Wishing you some very happy miles in your motorhome.

KVH is a nice system. These guys are nice people to talk to about it... and have adapted it to improve its functionality.

We have been using a KVH 2 series dome for 3 years in the US, Canada, UK & Europe & it has been excellent. Reliable & quick to tune in. Just press a switch & a few seconds later it is set.
Graeme

ps if anybody is interested our 2006 Monaco Diplomat fitted with the KVH dome is for sale in the classifieds.

Hi, We have just fitted a Tracvision R4 to our mh. Very easy to use .. press the switch and it locks onto satellite quickly. We had ours fitted with a twin lnb to use with a sky+ box. Excellent customer care. Would recommend.

Oh dear Snelly, you're being rather less than impartial again aren't you? You would have been equally correct and just as useful to Merc if you'd said: "Camos is a nice system. RoadPro (or VanBitz or many others) are nice guys to talk to about it"

As I don't believe you actually own a KVH system and are merely expressing an opinion based on nothing in particular, I think that it would be more helpful to enquirers to give them as much information as possible - even when they haven't directly requested it.

Evening Andy! Hope your ok. I like your article in Which Motorcaravan this month.

The user was asking pacifically about the KVH, I pointed them in the direction of the only automatic system dealer that I have had the pleasure of talking to.

Please accept my apology for not mentioning you and the camos. Like I said before, I don't know much about the camos system.

We really need to meet Andy, I think it would benefit us and the forum if we talked through our differences and maybe put an end to the little ding dongs we seem to have on here. Im more than happy to call it a day, personally im here to take part and help where I can within my area of expertise, not to give or receive hassle from fellow dealers, wouldn't you agree? Greatest deal of respect for you Andy, you've been in the business for a long time. Maybe you think im just another fly by night "whippersnapper", but if you meet me I think you'll find im pretty passionate about the same things you are.

Oh dear, RoadProAndy - the guy was asking about KVH so why are you taking a pop at Snelly?
Your self interest might put people off dealing with you when they come to choose a system for themselves.

I still think that it is worth giving someone an option to think about, especially if one has found something to be very good. I did a lot of searching before I decided on the Camos. Sorry if I have upset the system but I am still interested what advantage the Tracvision might have over the Camos.

Oh dear Aultymer, the guy clearly said: "I am new to satellite systems..."

If you were new to satellite TV and had only heard about SKY, would you be better or worse off if someone pointed out to you that there was another service called freesat?

I mentioned the Camos system not out of self-interest but because I believe that the more information people have, the better off they are. Don't you?

Surely the whole point of a forum like this is to spread and share knowledge, not suppress it.
