We will be travelling up to the World Dog Show in early July.
Our plan is to leave Dover on the 28th June.
Our first night will be in Dunkerque Ferry Terminal and will be leaving first thing on the 29th.
We are going to try and get as far as Puttgarden on the first day and then catch the ferry over to Rodbyhavn the next morning.
Our next crossing will hopefully be at Helsinger to Helsingborg.
Our next overnight stop will be somewhere along the main E4 road to Stockholm.
Then hopefully we should arrive in Stockholm around middayish on the 1st.
We were wondering if anyone has done this trip and if so any advice about dos and dont's along the way? Also recommended places to stop over for the night.

getting to Puttgarden from Dunkerque in one day is tough. Especially as this weekend is the first school holiday weekend in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany's most populated province, so there will be a lot of traffic on the road. So I would recommend to write down a few Stellplatz type sites along the route from our database.
The ferry from Puttgarden to Rødby and further on Helsingør-Helsingborg is then no problem at all, the ferries sail every half our all day and night. No booking needed.
Finding a place for the night along the E4 should be no problem at all. In Sweden you may stay for up to 24 hours on any public car park, unless local restrictions apply. And camp sites are numerous and usually do not require any pre-booking. However, it is four years ago that I have personally been at this stretch of the E4.
Hope that helps a bit.
Best Regards,
Gerhard
