We have just taken delivery of a Burstner Elegance(2005) moving from a Starburst. The ride quality on the Burstner seem a lot harsher and shock absorbsion very poor. I feel that if I ran over a coin I would be able to tell heads or tails!! Is this normal on these vehicles? Or does mine potentially need some attention. The van was empty - perhaps this was a factor. I would appreciate any feedback.
thanks

As you know I am no expert on anything in the slightest bit technical, but just wonder if your tyre pressures are OK, or maybe a tad over?
If you have Michelin Tyres, talk to Michelin on 01782 402000 and ask for the technical department.

I second checking that its got the correct tyre pressures - if its got air ride suspension check those pressures too especially as you say the van was empty of 'normal' stuff we all carry.

I take it that the Burstner is Ducato/Alko right? The same as Dethleffs. Many people found that the Ducato/Alko had a harsher ride than a straight Ducato or Ford etc. The tyre pressures is certainly worth checking and use the Tyre manufacturers recommended pressures rather than the MH recommendations. Normaly the tyre manufacturers pressures are much lower than those the MH manual states. Many people recommend something like Airride or similar to soften the ride. Unloaded won't help so try with normal loading

Hi Robwat,I too would say tyres and suggest about 50 to 55 psi.Let some pressure out of the air ride also,I am afraid that is trail and error soft and bouncy or harder and less roll
