hi all... sorry for this ramble

My (taken over) company is invoking a corperate stratergy on internet use and it will mean even quick internet use, e.g. checking bank account, booking a flight will be outlawed here at work.

Also, vodaphone are going to call me later and ask whether I want a free upgrade or a 50% reduction in my monthly contract price, for phone calls/texts.

just wondering what my options are :

I don't really need the net abroad
My old laptop can pick up wifi - anyway
I have BB at home on landline
For basic surfing I wont be needing a huge download limit.
But, having portable internet cheaply as an extra would be nice.

...So I was thinking of asking VP to give me net access from laptop via mobile, and to see if I can get a good deal when they call..
I know I could change providers, save money here and there, but I am happy enough with VP, coverage is good here etc.

Do I need 3G to be able to get BB on MOB?

just after a few thoughts, I realise this subject has come up before..

please no comments like : 'in my day we were lucky to be able to talk to each other when at work' 'what are you being payed for? coming up with long posts on MHF?'

etc etc Laughing

If your contract price comes down far enough to make it cost effective , you could try one of these

http://www.vodafonebusinessshop.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=MobileEmailAndData.PcExpressCard&planDuration=12

you may have to chop and stick,
slice and glue
cut and paste

got there in the end Wink

I have no idea, putting the right charger into the phone occassionally is the limit of my technical knowledge I'm afraid.

I use the vodafone thing as the web site shows, but with one of they ariel ehternetty wossnames, as I can the make Wi-Fi for up to 10 cllients pretty much anywheres.

I dont know how it works tho' I subscribe to the " I'm an idot with most technical stuff" school of thought.
