just by luck today I cleaned my one of campers side windows with my motorbike screen cleaner, the results amazed me to be honest.
In the sunlight I looked at the window on my camper and it was covered in slight scratches, probably from my past attempts at cleaning with other products which have not been brilliant if I'm honest.
I spayed the screen cleaner and wiped it away then buffed it up to polish, the window was cleaner than ever before and the slight scratches had disappeared completely, all this took was about a minute
I'm not sure about deep scratches, but if you have a fairly new van and want to look after the windows, I can recommend this product.
It may seem pricey at £9.99 a can but it uses so little at a time it will last a long time from my experience.
The product is Plexus and the web site will explain in more detail

Be careful applying Plexus. It has petroleum distillates in its formula, which is not good for many plastics. Read the can and your vehicles handbooks, to be sure it will not cause crazing at some later stage.
On Gold Wing m/bikes, it takes the outer protective coating off the screen

Hi Pete and thanks for the reply
strange you mention Goldwing, as I have just bought my first ever wing and as it is the first bike I have had to look through the screen when riding, I decided I wanted something that would not scratch it, hence my research led me to Plexus.
The research included many bike sites and not one person mentioned any damage to the screen?
I did as you mention check the can thoroughly and it does not warn of what you mention, in fact it states suitable for all plastics even painted. If you look through the Plexus web site I linked you will see nothing that indicates a problem.
I have since looked into petroleum distillates, but the fact that is present in most cleaners/cutting agents does not imply to me that is what caused the problem you mention, could it be that whoever highlighted the problem on the Goldwing screen had been using some other agent prior?
A quick Google on petroleum distillates comes with nothing serious that I can see

Someone recently mentioned using Autoglym Super Resin polish on their windows and how well it removed small scratches. I tried it the other week and was impressed with the result.
I do know that it has a very mild cutting action which seems to be just about right for perspex.
Autoglym Car Glass Cleaner is the best window / windscreen cleaner I have ever used but this is definitely not to be used on plastics.
