Can anyone help with suggestions. I am looking for some sort of deadlocks for the doors for safe use when we are in the vehicle. Last year when in France we were broken into whilst sleeping, the alarm woke us up but our two young children were terrified when they saw the nasty scary yobs trying to nick our stuff at 3am. It left us very shaken. At the same time I don't want to be locked inside in a fire or other emergency. Are there any products out there?

| Seems to me a very strong chain inside the van from one door to the other might do the trick. Might not look nice but when the kids security is at risk who cares what it looks like? |

If as the person above posted it is a product to mount between the cab doors, then Fiamma make a product called the Duo Safe p/n 083512.
They also offer the Safe Door Guardian for securing other doors in the vehicle.
If you need any more help, please contact me.
Regards,
Chris

| we bought a SleepCure internal door blocker but it only fits one particular type of lock - we have a Eldis Autostratus. It's a solid red plastic device that simply slots over the door lock inside - two strong magnets stop it being banged out of position from outside but it's easy to remove if you need to get out of the van.We got ours from a motorhome show from smart outdoors but I think the people who make them do the shows as well. |

We have the HeoSafe deadlocks for the cab doors on our new Ducato base. However we are concerned about the new style habitation door. Yes we lock it from inside but seems very flimsy and went wrong soon after delivery.
Because of the plastic on the indside of the habitation door we haven't so far found an extra lock for the habitation door other than the Fiamma lock that we use on the outside when we leave the motorhome.
If anyone knows of a suitable extra lock/deadlock that can be used on the Auto-Trail habitation door (one that can be opened easily in an emergency from the inside) then I would love to know about it. |
