Hi, when I purchased my MH it had a Sigma alarm fitted. I think it is a S12 as it is armed by the central locking function of the Renault base vehicle using the Renault key fob - no additional fob or keypad.

I have no information on how it works and I am paricularly interested in disarming the interior ultrasound sensors leaving the perimeter armed.

The alarm sounds if an attempt is made to start the engine when the alarm is set. I am not sure about the cab doors as I think it's a bit erratic but I think opening them is detected by the Ultrasound sensors. The living area door has it's own sensor but there is none on the gas bottle or underbed storage door.

Is the S12 considered to be a good unit or would I be better of getting a different system which also covers the gas and underbed doors?

Many thanks,

Ray

Hi Ray, when the cab door is opened the alarm should sound off due to voltage drop rather than ultrasound detection, IIRC the ultrasound is disabled by pressing the button for a second time within 10 secs. of arming the system

Eddie from Vanbitz would be the guy to ask..

IF YOUR SIGMA REMOTE HAS A TWO BUTTON REMOTE IF YOU PRESS THE SMALLEST BUTTON ON THE REMOTE TWICE WHEN YOU ARM THE SYSTEM WHILE THE BLINKERS ARE FLASHING THIS WILL DISARM THE INTERIOR ULTRASONICS OTHERWISE IF NOT AND YOU HAVE A KEYPAD FITTED INSIDE THE VAN IF YOU TURN ON THE IGNITION THEN PRESS NUMBER TWO ON KEYPAD AND THEN TURN OFF IGNITION THIS WILL DO THE SAME BUT ONLY THE ONE TIME UNTILL VAN IS STARTED. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Many thanks for your responses. There is no key pad or seperate fob. The system is set with the Renault key fob by locking as normal [or using the internal central locking button].
I will give Mandy and Dave's suggestion a go i.e. press the key fob locking button for a 2nd time within 10 seconds. It would be interesting to know if the alarm warning led flashes in a different colour or sequence if the internal alarm is disabled. At present it flashes green for approx 30 seconds when the alarm is set before changing to flashing red.

I shall also check that the roof light is not turned off e.g is in the normal courtesy position as I guess this is what causes the volts drop to be detected when the cab doors are opened with the alarm set.
