Not wine as such, but Cockburns port is on offer in Sainsbugs at just £4.94 per bottle - 750 ml. Yum yum in my tum.

Funnily enough, as I read this post, I've just finished a bottle of the very same stuff and I can confirm that it is indeed a fine wine!

Still on topic I think Confused

Some of the Chilean reds are pretty good, but having tried three and had a vile headache the following morning Mrs Zeb won't touch them any more. Crying or Very sad I should say she never drinks more than two glasses - usually only one. Confused

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Strange isn't it? my wife reckons Chilean reds are the only ones that DON'T give her a headache.
Lately I've been drinking a very nice Italian red called Amerono about £7 from Tescos vey nice. And if my horse wins at the National it will be Perrier-Jouet at £30 a bottle!

If you look on the label on wine bottles, it usually says "contains sulphites". This is because sodium meta bisulphite is added to the crushed grapes before fermentation to "sterilise" the grape mixture to prevent any wild yeasts/bacteria etc which could cause the wine to "go off". Residual sulphite content is blamed for headaches and this is a reason why so-called organic wines are supplied free of sulphites.

Certainly had some good Chilean reds, for cheap money.. worth a look..

So dont know the cost.. was very nice Very Happy
