We are the owners of a new 987 F Rapido and have kept our bike rack from our old motorhome thinking we would be able to fit it ourselves but on reading the Rapido manual it says bike racks have to be fitted by approved Rapido dealers or our warranty is nulled. Anyone know of anyone we can use other than motorhome dealers (who charge a fortune) but still be able to keep our warranty valid. We are in the Scarborough area. We would be a quite happy to buy a new bike rack but obviously as we have one it would make sense to use our old one.

The bike racks tend (with a couple of exceptions) to be 60Cms wide, measured centre to centre of the mounting brackets. If you drew an imaginary centre line vertically down the back of your vehicle, the mounting points should be somewhere along parallel vertical lines drawn 30 Cms from the centre line.

Hope this help, I am looking at fitting a bike rack to my 986F, not prepared to pay the £300 for a rack and fitting when it only costs £105 for the rack
If you have any other info would be great to hear

Andy M

Which bike rack did you fit? I am thinking of fitting a Fiamma Carry Bike CL- 2007 which is can be installed under the rear window. Can you offer any advice?

Regards

Pete

I fitted a Fiamma Pro C to my Autotrail. It was a doddle. Remember to use some 10mm tube cut to just below the thickness of the M/H wall. I had a small problem with the bolts, it came with a selection but I was 2 short of the correct length to go through the wall without being to short or 2 long. Use Sikaflex on the joints. And lastly make sure there is clearance behind where you are going to drill. The lower mounting on the Apache lined up with the seat support, but I had looked at one with a rack fitted and seen that the end of the support had been trimmed back 10mm.
Quite daunting when you start, but dont be scared.
