Hi All,

On our last rip to France we got talking to an old Frenchman that had been motorhoming for decades and he introduced us to a couple of tips that I would like to pass on (apologies if you all know them already)

1. place 2 wine corks under your wiper blades or wiper arms when you are parked up for any length of time. This will keep your wiper blades off the windscreen and stop them sticking to the screen - great in hot weather or when parked under trees.

2. To save on gas or electric, place one or two plastic bottle filled with water (not too full) in the front of the windscreen and use the sun to heat the water up then it can be used for either washing up or adding to the kettle to give you a kick start

Yep great tip.... can only be improved by throwing away the corks each evening and replacing them with freshly pulled ones Wink

Absolutely - I was going to add the next tip as being along the lines that the odour from Fresh corks help to deter the insects from sticking to the screen when parked, with the recommendation that at least two sets of fresh corks be used daily Very Happy

Well it works for the Ozzies. They put corks all around their hats and that keeps the flies away. God knows why any self respecting fly would bother though. Sad
