So I went and bought one , and firt thing I get told is that theres a software update to do when I get home.

Thats when I dicovered that vita has its own variety of Activesynch, or however its spelled, so I did it on the XP dektop without problem.

Then, having orted that out which took about 30 minutes, I sorted out the dimensions, gvw and axle weights of the bus, and told it what I wanted for bluetooth and the gizmos.

Then, told it a few test routes locally, which I know the road widths of, and guess what?.............it worked.

oh yes, having jsut paid for another 12 months of speed...sorry....safety cameras, I only get 6 months of free trials, but I shall cunningly use both tomtom and pronav, get the best of both worlds, then buy both again.

Errrr......not much else to tell really, big enough screen, slowish to boot up, but no problem, I'll turn it on and then drive out the compound so I am ready to go when I get to the road.

Europe available from the end of July alledgedly, but shant hold me breff.

Marks out of ten for general use?

8.5

I am also interested in one of dem...

I shall await your updates on its use "in the field" so to speak and probably get one in a couple of months.

I asked TomTom if they were going to do similar and the said "No, not interested". Evil or Very Mad

Not had much experience of these, but they do work fairly well around Europe, just bear in mind that when in Germany, you may just come up against a bridge (not literally I hope) that is not on the sat nav.

Don't know why, just a quirk of Germany!

I hope you have a lot of use out of it, several truckers I know swear by them for finding things abroad.....

And....its, so far, usless.

So far as I can make out, its marketed only by Maplins. The blokey said...theres a software glitch, ( credit there, honesty and all that) but you will have difficulty in syncronising it with Vista. Xp is ok,, and lord knows about Macs. SO I connected it up to the PC, and when I went onto the pornav site to upgrade, the things telling me the SD card is corrupted.
So I got to take it back. Now, thing is, it comes with no battery power, or at least mine didnt, so it was a 5 hour charge before I could use it.

On the plus side, it was simple to tell it what the dimensions and weights of the RV are. It has, MP3, MP4 ( dunno what they are) and bluetooth compatability with a decent speaker for the phone. There a stylus, which is ok for the intricate bits, and the screens big enough for my fingers to do the walking.

BUT........untill I get a replacement SD card, ( prolly on the morn) I cant tell you what the thing navigate like. The speed camera detector is extra, as per usual, but dunno how much, you do get 6 months free tho.

Oh, the screen attatching thing is good too.

It looks like it should be a loud enough, and robust enough thing to use, and will, hopefully be able to sort out the Sd card soon.
