Dave...

I don't think the plastic floor is too brittle. The crack in my case has occured right at the back of a floor panel where it meets a downturn which is more rigid. Along this edge it's well supported but being soft, movement occurs and its ripping away from the edge.

Once the tear has started I'm worried it will continue to open up.

Hi All

I can remember a post a while back where a guy could see daylight in a crack between cab and habitation.

Best Regards

I haven't got a split that I can see but I do have a problem when the temperature drops with cold air in the cab area creating a draught along the floor which is quite worrying and makes us think that there is a gap somewhere. Earlier in the year we started putting an old duvet on the cab floor round the seats and under the dashboard area which seemed to help but it made us rethink a trip to Norway in case we froze to death !The van is going for its first habitation check in a fortnight (Autotrail Cheyenne 2007) and I've mentioned this to the dealer but they seemed unable to understand the problem and now at this time of year it is impossible to demonstrate. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed a cold than normal Fiat X250 cab

In the good old days, when men were men, Preston North End won the cup every year and beer was 4p a pint. My Ambulance Service had the equivilent of coachbuilt Leyland Daf vehicles, with the V8 conversion.,

Anyway, after about 8 -9 months they started to dissappear from service and then returned a week or two later. When we asked the fitters, they showed up the cab under the rubber matting. We saw, a split in the floor which was completelt across the floorpan, and was, opened up to about 4 inches in places.

Apparently this was because in the build process, they cut the Strengthening hoop off, as it got in the way of the overcab lockers.

That was us ! Sitting in the passenger seat you could see the ground when you looked down the pillar that connected the cab to the habitation area. The dealer sorted it but we get a persistant rumbling noise from inside this pillar when on the road.

We too have the soft rubbery area in the cab floor. I've assumed it was a feature not a fault. There's nothing to be seen other than the rubber mat but we'll have a look for any signs of splitting.

We have only had our M/H a few weeks and have same problem but I've covered it with a thin piece of light oak coloured PVC architrave. It is slid under the edge of the seats and stuck down with strong double sided tape. Looks like its always been there.

Best to do something before it got worse.

Its on my list of things that need fixing when I send it back - 'again' Sad

BTW: Yes I do notice that the cab end seems to be very cold at nights but put that down to lack of insulation at that end - Double Glazed Windscreen needed perhaps.

Am I the first kid on the block to have the floor of his X250 Cab split? It's developed a split between the Cab and Habitation unit where you walk between the two Cab seats. Near the join between Cab and rear.

Neither of us are particularly heavy nor wear stilletos Smile

Any chance of a photo' to clarify?
