Very Happy We would like to announce that we have today ordered our first and new motorhome Very Happy It is an Auto-Trail Cheyenne 696G Laughing
Is it normal to think Oh my goodness what have we done Shocked
We have sold our house and have decided to go for it full time Wink I know that it is a cliche but life really is too short and we all have to make tha most of it while we are here.

Over the last ten years we have lost our dads, been involved in a serious accident and worked long hours. This has been more than enough to make us realise that there is more to life than just a nice house (And mortgage to go with it).

We are still young, have our health (Touching wood) so watch this space Exclamation

We now need to go and have a stiff whisky to calm ourselves Confused

Dean & Ang

Hi

Welcome to the club! I am sure you will have no regrets at all. I certainly don't, even though I am without a motorhome at present!

I´m intrigued, I´m unsure
I´m searching for more
I´ve got something that´s all mine
I´ve got something that´s all mine
Take me somewhere I can breathe
I´ve got so much to see
This is where I want to be
In a place I can call mine

Good Luck!
Although we are not full timers we are out most weekends all the year round and absolutely love it!
We hope you enjoy your Motorhome as much as we enjoy ours.
I am sure you will have a fabulous time.

Congratulations and welcome. Very Happy Very Happy

"Is it normal to think Oh my goodness what have we done"

I fainted and needed several hours of resuscitation from several passing young ladies of statuesque proportions - in my dreams!!!! Confused Confused Cool

But yes - I was chewing my fingernails for several days - if not weeks. I think most people do as it's a pretty big expense and you want to get it right. Shocked

Fret not - even if it turns out to be not quite perfect (like most people's vans) you will still enjoy it no end.

Everything's a compromise in this game! Shocked Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Congratulations. It is a big step but a great one to take. It has taken me years and I did the same as you and bought one last week. I havent been brave enough to give the house up yet - but I will!
I really hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy your new life to the max - we are only here once and that once doesn't last that long - so enjoy - have fun - and live!

Hi Dean & Ang

Good choice hope you have read 'New Motorhome 6 Months on' in motorhome chit chat, worth reading.

Quite a few 696 owners on the forum, ask away if you have any questions, if we don't respond PM us.

Hope all goes well, which dealer are you using.

Best Regards
Broom

Well done and welcome.

We became full-timers just over a year ago. We were full of doubts and panic before we left but it was the best thing we ever did. Very Happy

We spent the last year touring Western Europe and Morocco and loved it. We are back home for a bit now, recharging our emotional batteries. We will be back on the road in a few weeks time, and can hardly wait.

It's probably the best decision you've ever made too. Very Happy

Bill

Hi Dean & Ang,

Your post struck a chord with me, as it's for exactly those types of reasons the wife and I will be following in your footsteps. We don't want to be looking back thinking, 'if only we had done this sooner', and before it's too late, as you never know what's around the next corner.

Good luck to you and I hope you make the most of it. Might even see you around as we're just down the road from you.

Best regards,

Paul
