OK, so I have got a few health and mobility problems, but I am unable to get any travel insurance to cover me for any of my health conditions, I know by staying in Europe I can get reciprocal emergency treatment with my health card, but what happens if I suffer anything that needs repatriation ? Obviously my travel insurance would not cover this, what about motorhome recovery insurance? Would this get us home?
Also what is classed as an emergency? What happens if I would need health care for one of my conditions whilst abroad which may not be classified as an emergency?
Travel insurance companies I have tried will cover Chris at a premium but would not even quote me a premium to cover my conditions.
We are at present with First Assist through Halifax.
Although I see you are retired I am a bit reluctant to suggest this, and please don’t take offence, but my wife had trouble getting insurance for her father’s existing conditions. Age concern would have been able to get him cover, but at a premium. Maybe if all else fails?

I will have to source one of these companies folks, we do not intend travelling abroad again this year so will definitely look at these ones before our insurance expires.
Have you tried Chartwell Insurance, we used to be with the PO until they started to ask 100's of questions for each of my husbands problems and even told me it was taking too long and didn't have time to deal with it.
Chartwell advertise in the disabled drivers magazine we have used them twice now and they are quite reasonable and only ask sensible and basic questions. Seems to me that most travel insurance companies take it for granted that you are travelling by air and are on a package holiday. Chartwell do ask how you are travelling and by what means you are getting there i.e., motorhome/ferry/channel tunnel.
Their no is 0208 958 0900/01

We haven't made a claim so can't say how this would be dealt with, but that's the same for most you don't know until it happens.
Hope this helps - Mardie
