Can't the bayonet fitting screw in without the outer threaded adapter?
If so that shouls give you enough length to attached the pump nozzle.

I would suggest a vist to your local Calor Depot that has an LPG pump,they usually have an assortment of adapters.

Hi Denton.
There are 3 types of adaptors You have the ACME screwed into your tank, with the UK Bayonet screwed into it. As bigfoot said you need to put the UK Bayonet straight in the tank,that will solve the problem. Looking at you picture it looks like the UK Bayonet does not have a thread inside it, which is fine if you stay in the UK. Check these out: This has the thread in it;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Autogas-LPG-Flush-filler-to-UK-Bayonet_W0QQitemZ220260683719QQihZ012QQcategoryZ9895QQcmdZViewItem

Then the ACME what you have;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Autogas-LPG-UK-filler-to-1-3-4-ACME-filler -adapter_W0QQitemZ320278082186QQihZ011QQcategoryZ9895QQcmdZViewItem

The other one is for France ECT.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Autogas-LPG-Euro-Adaptor_W0QQitemZ2202 60683774QQihZ012QQcategoryZ9895QQcmdZViewItem

If you have all 3 you cant go wrong looking at the pictures you dont leave any adaptors in your tank so if you just got the euro adaptor thats all you need. Good Luck Bob.

Hi I had the same problem with the same tank fitting as you. I went to a firm call Tinleytec, you need a Universal filler adaptor-22mm-bayonet Male -female this also allows you to fit the french cup adaptor. It costs Ģ18.21

hi,.
round inlet with thread on the outside - ACME is filler for: GERMANY, BELGIUM, S. IRELAND
The filler with two pegs - BAYONET is fill adaptor for: UK, HOLLAND, SPAIN
There is better type of the adaptor and more easy to use called - ACME TO BAYONET
Last adaptor is ACME TO FR/IT and this will do the rest of Europe
