I've been looking at the fake wood dashboard kit from the Walnut Dash Co for my 2006 Transit and would appreciate the views of anyone who has installed or seen it, not necessarily on a Transit of course. I'm a bit concerned whether it looks a bit naff!

I think that wood trim on a van looks about as good as clear lexus type rear lights on a 10yr old BMW or Corsa.........
.....but that's a very personal opinion. The light wood on the bessacarrs looks even worse, but that's a personal opinion as well.
If you like it then that's OK. Some people do, some people don't. |

| My van was fitted with it when I bought it, I quite like it as it smartens an otherwise boring dash. One word of caution, mine seems to peel in the heat in places and i had to reinforce the adhesive. |

| My van was also fitted with this 'mock walnut' when I bought it second hand. It seems ok, but in preference I would not buy it and fit it myself. |

Yeah, me too - it was on the van when I bought it. Although I wouldn't shell out for it myself, I do feel it adds something to an otherwise mass of boring plastic.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I had a feeling that it would generally be negative (apart from Badger), hence the question in the first place, and I think I'll save myself the 60 pounds.

Hi
I have the same vehicle, I fitted the kit myself to brighten up the boring looking dash it works for me and I think it looks good, if you decide to go for it apply it as soon as you can [not hard] so if there is a problem you can get it replaced, my first kit after fitting looked as if there was a load of air bubbles under the laquer the guy at walnut [Chris I think ]was ok about it and made me a new set foc.
Hope it helps.
Regards |

I've fitted it to my dash as i wanted the dash to look a bit more domesticated. It's fairly easy to apply, but you do need a warm day and to be entirely on your own so as to be able to really concentrate. Some pieces are quite long and stringy, but there is really only room for one person on the job. I'm quite pleased with mine as it covers up some of that tacky looking grey plastic dash!! |
