It's probably a bit late now but in case you are still on site or go back...
The symptoms you are experiencing are classic radio interference, either from an overlapping wifi or from another electrical device broadcasting on the 2.4 Gh band, e.g. microwave ovens, some alarm systems and many other devices that transit or leak in the unregulated wifi band.
Maybe you can identify the culprit and turn it off.
Failing that:
If your wireless card software allows it - you may be able to find a channel setting that you can change - the range is from 1 to 11. You should change the setting to several channels away from the current one i.e. if your card is set to channel 2 try channel 5 or above, as the channels do overlap. You may have to experiment to get the best setting.
