Hi we have an Autotrail Chieftain which we aquired about 6 weeks ago.It has this set up regarding TV etc. A Status 530 ariel , an Obserview CM680 and a Skytronic 128 553. We also have a radio /cd/dvd/mp3 player in the dash connected to the flip down monitor (which is also the reversing camera monitor) on the windscreen This is not the original one which came with the van the dealer has put in a brand new one as the old one was faulty. a Humax freeview box, we have since added our own flat screen tv which connects to the socket by the side door which is original to the van. we know the freeview box is linked to both monitor and tv. We are wondering if the dash dvd player is linked to the Tv as at present it only plays on the windscreen monitor. In my mind it does n't appear that the dvd player is not linked via the ariel lead any ideas before we go and buy a tv with built in dvd. Also there were no instructions for the obserview and skytronic does any one know where we can get them Cheers Rich

Hi

On recent Autotrails you will find a switch box in an overhead locker usually next to the main Power unit/charger. This will have 6 phono plugs in it. You need to find the one labeled "video out" then run a lead from this to your other tele. You can then view DVD's on either screen by switching phono plugs. In mine I wired in an extra switch to save swapping plugs.

Did you manage to get your instructions?

If not - I could photocopy the flysheet I have for both the Obserview and the Skytronic.

You need to connect a video cable from the 'VIDEO OUT' socket on the rear of the head unit in the dash (normally a yellow lead) up to the 'VIDEO IN' socket at the back of your TV
The sound will play through the MH speakers when the DVD is inserted
If either of the devices does not have these then you will have to buy an integrated TV/DVD
Maybe the flip down and the second TV will both show the DVD at the same time
Please keep me posted on how you get on since I have had the same requirement on our new MH that came without a TV or an aerial
We fitted a Sat dish; used our Sky box audio output to send the sound to the head unit and the yellow cable to send the picture back to the TV
We were lucky since the MH was precabled to make it a fairly simple job

I just came across this post...

You could always buy a video modulator, to send the video out signal from the dash unit down the aerial lead. They cost about £20
