Hi from a new member. We usually wild camp in France for our holidays but are thinking of going to Scotland in a couple of weeks for 3 weeks. Can you wild camp in Scotland?

Hi Fentiger1 and welcome to Motorhomefacts! Very Happy

You have registered with a website which will offer you untold support for your motorhoming hobby. There is a huge depth of experience and expertise on here. Well done for choosing MHF.

Now, if you go onto the shop side of things - OutdoorBits - you'll be able to acquire a MHF sticker for your MH. That way, when I see you in Scotland in two weeks' time, I'll be able to WAVE to you. You see, we're going that way too, and at the same time! Rolling Eyes Wink

We're heading for my nephew's outdoor shop on Lochalsh. I can plug into his electrics! Generous soul!

Have a look at his live webcam: www.914outdoor.co.uk/content/view/15/29/

You asked about wild camping. YES it is possible, provided commonsense and common courtesy prevail. There really are some outstandingly beautiful areas to enjoy.

Now then, you've registered with MHF. Why not go the whole mile and SUBSCRIBE for a tenner. That will allow you even more access to this wonderful site. Go on, you know you want to!!

Enjoy Scotland. Very Happy

Hi and welcome
wild camping is legal in Scotland and we have our own countryside act that specifically gives rights to roam - but of course you are supposed to act responsibly in return. Look in the campsites database for wild camping spots but if you know which areas you would like to visit then post them on here - there are many of us who regularly wild camp but haven't had time to put all the spots we have found in the database yet

Hi Fentinger & welcome,
We live in Scotland and wildcamp regularly. If you let us know in a post where you are heading I'll let you now of any spots I know in the area.

Looks like there are a few of us invading!! WE are driving up in 2 weeks and aim to spend 5 days around Kintyre, Oban possibly Fort William. We are then heading across to Perth to visit family for a few days. Any wild spots / interesting places on the West coast would be helpful.

Thanks
Spence

Brilliant wildcamp spot on the west coast.

Turn right off the A816 onto the B8002 and keep driving as far as you can.
Eventually you come to what appears to be a redundant ferry point. Good hardstanding and shelter from onshore winds.
Seal colony on rocks and most probably good sea fishing. Don't forget to spend a little in the general store about halfway down the B8002.

and don't tell anyone else, its our little secret Wink
