This one is different, I was shown it today it is very good and will probably fool the less able than yourself bognormike. It uses links to the official lloyds site and appears most professional. If you obey the standard precautions then it wont be a problem but not everyone is as doubting as Thomas.
Be careful out there!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also receive these on a regular basis along with the odd 15 million dollars of syphoned off Nigerian money from General Faguut or whoever. Still waiting for the funds to arrive....Evil or Very Mad...... Laughing

My understanding is that a bank will never ever call or email you and ask you to confirm personal details. i.e. passwords etc

When Lloyds send me a an email they add the last 3 or 4 letters of your credit or debit card, sorry - not yours - mine) I think to prove who they are. Unless of course that too is a little trick. Sad

Although I manage my bank accounts on-line I have never given my bank my email address. That way I know for certain it's not them contacting me, however clever the scammers become.

The only banking transactions I personally make are if I call them, never the other way around and definitely never by email, fax yes email never.

Two weeks ago had 6000 euros taken out of my company credit card, by some kind soul using it to purchase jewelry from a shop in Madrid.... Card details probably grabbed during an internet purchase....
