I want to put up a flat screen TV on a flexible arm in our Chausson Flash 03.
Do I need to purchase a specialist TV or can any flat screen TV be fitted?
Similarly, do I need to purchase a specific flexible arm?
Also, I have been told there are various types of ariels. Which are the best? Presumably, they need to be professionally fitted or could I do it myself?
All these questions from a motorhome novice! Obviously in need of some good guidance!

I have fitted both my TVs one is an Avtec and the other from Tesco - brackets from Currys - No problems. Most of the Tvs are fairly light, not like the CRT versions. Some people have special carry bags to protect against vibration but I leave mine in place - no probs so far! I use an Oyster dish and a Status 530 which is a directional aerial with pull out bits for am/fm

What sizes Richard? And you say both, is this to cover multiple viewing angles?

I use 2 x 15 inch telly's both on swing arm brackets. One is Freeview and the other is analogue - so I can't have them both on at the same time!!!
I will be glad when I get satellite installed.

Just moved up to a van with a fitted sliding tv bracket and cupboard. Got a status aerial fitted and now looking for a telly. The cupboard has a 12v power connector but no 240v. Someone suggested just a cheap 15" unit from Tesco or similar. These have no 12v supply so would an inverter do that? Any help gratefully appreciated

Russell,
Of course you can have analogue and Freeview running on each TV at that same time. Another urban myth regarding Digital. Provided both signals are coming from the same transmitter, and in 95% of cases this is true, the aerial will receive the analogue and digital transmissions. They do not override each other as they are normally at opposite ends of the spectrum, so split the output from the amplifier and run both TVs.
Better still, buy a low voltage Freeview box for the other TV and have Freeview on both.

Gerry

You're right Gerry, you can have both analogue and digital on at the same time, however we found that the signal for one was about two seconds ahead of the other so if you were able to hear both sets at the same time you would hear the dialogue repeated (like an echo) from the second set. A second digital box, as you say, is the answer to the problem
