Can anyone help?
My Laptop has locked up and I have mislaid the original Windows XP Disk.
I have the Registration No. on the original Windows Label.
Is there any way of obtaining another Original without purchasing a brand new copy.

You haven't been very specific about the problem but have you tried removing and replacing the battery, without the power cord connected of course.

I wish to totally reinstate the Windows prog' but do not have the original disk - I therefore require a new Copy relevant to the Serial No. ( Microsoft) on the Computer cover. Is it possible to obtain a copy of the original somehow?

Laptops generally do not need a cd key to install XP. They use a customised version for the particular laptop that has all the necessary drivers for that model. You will need to purchase a new copy, preferably from the laptop manufacturer, although you will find one on Ebay, but probably not a legal one!

As I understand it, I'll probably shot down, all discs are the same they are S/N locked so if you use your S/N and some elses disc you should be OK

I agree and as you already have the serial number, it wont be illegal for you to install it Smile
