Are we talking X250 here or is it an earlier model?

Dunno if this is pertinant to the X250 as is different engines. Am assuming therefore that it is peculiar to the boxer if no other Fiat owners have had a similar recall.
"New recall issued today for boxer 3 ( Peugeot ) Code YMZ On the vehicles concerned, the rating of the fuse protecting the starter circuit is not high enough to support the electrical current required under certain very particular starting conditions.
The operation consists of replacing this fuse and modifying the starter electrical wiring harness in order to prevent engine starting problems.
Letters to owners with effective vehicles should be out soon."

the fuse for this circuit was replaced on my Citroen some weeks ago as recall , at the same time as the scuttle was fixed.
Odd you are only getting info now ?

Is odd isn't it how this info trickles through eventually mebbes it will be a Fiat recall in the future, who knows!!!!
Well I haven't had the recall letter through, but if it's the issue referred to by reeventu in the earlier post, then I guess it's just made the conversation with my local dealer a bit simpler...
The metal pipe across the top of the engine running from the top of the expansion tank to above the thermostat failed on mine on Friday (cracked underneath rather than sheared like reenventu's). Result = no coolant (well, ok, there is some coolant, just no pressure so little if any engine cooling). Perhaps not a "safety" issue, but certainly a blood-pressure impacting one trying to find somewhere safe to pull up before the engine temperature crept up...
Anyway, the AA did a sterling job...have put a temporary rubber hose to bypass the failed bit until I get home. 3 callouts in 5 months...am going to be blacklisted at this rate...
