Hi
can anyone tell me how they fix solar panels to the roof of a Rapido A class when the actual outer skin appears not to be bonded to the roof panel. We are concerned that any severe stress i.e. windy conditions, put upon this skin with the installation of a bonded solar panel could rive the skin off. Do we have it screwed on or just stuck bearing in mind that if we have it screwed our warranty could be affected.
Aire and sun of Keighley have given us a good price but before proceeding we need to know which is the best way of fixing these.

I had the same concerns on my EuroMobil.

What we did was use aluminium angle which was bonded to the roof along the full length of the panels and then secured further with self tappers.

I was a little concerned about wind getting under the panel and lifting it still so put an additional piece of angle at the leading edge.

When fixing the angle we scuffed the paint work to ensure a good keyed surface. and we drilled pilot holes for the self tappers which were then filled with Sikoflex also.

Panels were extremely well secure Smile
