Right, I've got my van, had a self seeking 85cm dish fitted and now I'm looking to get more out of it than the freeview channels.

At home we have the Sky family package, so I'm thinking if I get a 12 volt Pace 1000 javelin box or a Pace DS430 dual voltage box, (both avalable at £212 delivery inc. from a web site), get it fitted to my van and just swap my home package viewing card to the Pace box will I still get the same package in my van?

And will it work in Italy and Southern Spain?

Discuss!

Sadly not .I tried the same thing but my sky card will only work with the unit it is registered to. So now I just take my sky box from home with me when we go away,no need for the extra box

Thanks Bri for your prompt reply. My understanding from reading info on the digibox website was that you could programme your card for the new box. If this is not the case it would seem I'm back to square one. I assume your box is dual voltage or do you use an inverter from a 12 v. supply?

Hi

As far as I know, the SKY card will work in another receiver, but not for any premium channels such as sport or movies.

Re reception - www.astra2d.com for reception reports.

I watched BBC and ITV in Northern Italy with no issue. Southern Spain I doubt you would bet BBC and ITV, but you will get the channels on the south beam.

www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk for more info.

Russell

It'll work in Northern Italy, not in most of Southern Spain (you'll need a larger dish). You'll get all the channels you subscribe to on a Pace 1000 Mini box that isn't paired to your card except for premium channels (Movies, sport etc.)

If you want a Pace 1000 Mini box (12 volt), send me a PM. I've got one you can have an awful lot cheaper than £212 (well £75 actually). Rolling Eyes
