Zeb is right. Have a list with you and write anything you find you really could not do without when you are away -bedclothes come into that category for example !

My advice would be to avoid the accessory shops. As soon as anything has the word " motorhome ", "caravan" or "camping" in front of it the price doubles. You could do worse than look in a Poundshop, Tesco or Woolies.

We have a loft jammed with one -time " must have " items and many of them were the result of a trip round the local camping shop.

Don't forget the instruction manuals.

When we bought our first motorhome, were were given a plastic wallet full of instruction manuals. These were put in the drawer at home for safekeeping.

Wrong thing to do, first time away in the mtorhome I forgot most of what I was told during the hand over.

Now they live in the van ready in case we need to check up on how things work.

Sounds familar? Smile Smile

Hi

To respond to your query re a campsite with flat, level hard standings, EHU, good walks etc etc can I recommend Hunters Moon in Wareham, Dorset ?. It's a CC site and open all year so you'd have help should you need it.

The Wareham Forest (part of the New Forest) is across the road, there's a dog friendly pub 5 minutes walk away, no kids allowed inside though (and NO, I'm not joking) that serves good food and proper beer (lager too if you must...).

You mentioned you'd be happy to travel 200 odd miles so this is well within that distance from Kent but maybe for the first trip somewhere closer to home?.

Have fun wherever you decide.
