Husky 230 on a Mitsubishi L200 chassis. It has spent much of its life in europe reviewing campsites with its previous owners who sadly sold her due to bereavement.
Myself and Ms B have a keen interest in mountaineering and getting off the beaten track and one of our favourite places in the world is the Italian Dolomites and we hope to take the 'moby' soon.
We will be at the C&CC club site this weekend for the Kendal mountain film festival so if you see us, come and say hi Laughing

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Its always sad to think that someone had to sell a van beacuse of bereavment. This may be that the partner who died was the only driver. this would sadly be the case with me and my missus as she cant drive.
As long as you look after your bus that will go some way to making the last owner feel better as theres nothing worse than seeing your van go for scrap.

Anyway i hope uyou find this furum useful. I dont think we have too many demountable owners on here so your experiences will be invaluble to those DMs who do use this forum.

Its a 2 way street so please put your experiences one here too.

Good luck

Phill

Hi Bimobil

Welcome to MHF.

Don't be nicking my pitch at Castlerigg Hall site.

We are the walking type not the climbing, best of luck and keep us updated with your exploits.

Best Regards
Broom

Welcome. Always wondering about your type ----- of vehicle that is! I think it might be our next step from vehicle/camping combination but thinking about space inside. Does it work and any restrictions? Maybe should take a look at one.

This meets our requirements fully. There is ample space for cooking, sleeping, chilling and a bathroom also, without having to modify the layout at different times of the day. There is a little demonstration on the BiMobil Website on how it works. The quality of the fittings is basic but excellent and German Hand built, so even after nearly 10 years of use, everything still works like new. Also, the dismountable body option was the flexibility that we needed, as we didn't want to have to take the full motorhome everywhere with us, so we can just unhook the camper and use the pickup to go shopping, sightseeing etc. The 4 wheel drive is a bonus for us to get to more remote areas in winter. All in all cannot fault our choice in motorhome. If you have any particular questions, just feel free to contact us, but bear in mind we are not experts as we are still learning ourselves, having only bought it this summer.

Welcome Bimobil. Well you really seem to have got the ideal vehicle for you. Bet lots of people on here wished they could have bought a MH that suited them so well.

Have lots of fun with the DM and keep us up to date with your exploits.

Happy travelling

Sue

Thanks, it's the detachable unit that appeals as you say for flexibility.
