Hi to all,

We have been travelling in the Hymer since May and at present are in the Cotsowolds (Broadway). Have an ongoing problem with the brake lights not working. Changed fuses, called mobile mechanic, called out recovery and low and behold when we got to newest site discovered they are not working again! Grrr!! We think our only option now is to take it in to a garage or get someone reliable out (don't like driving without the brakes!). Does anyone know of a reliable mechanic in the Cotswolds area that could help. The van is also due an MOT and service in Jan and as we are staying in this area it would kill two birds to find a reliable garage now.

Thanks and happy motorhoming.

Hi I don't know how old your van is, but corrosion on the electrical terminals can often be the cause of faulty brake lights. It won't do any harm to take the covers off and have a look. Might save you ££££'s at a garage.

Hi,
Had a similar problem with my reversing lights on a hymer, took lens cover off and found contacts corroded, cleaned contacts with wd-40 and emery cloth problem solved.

Best of Luck

Get someone reliable to look at it.

You have someone reliable just 1 mile from the Broadway CC site, namely, AutoSleeper at Willersley.

If it were my problem, and I'd done the cleaning of bulbs, and checked the brake light switch, then I'd get cheeky and pay AutoSleeper a visit.

It could result in rejection, it could produce a result, it might cost some money...

Good luck!

There is a very approachable garage on the trading estate in Pershore that specializes in Fiat and Alfa, does our servicing and he knows his stuff.
Not far away if your still there!

Will pm further details if that helps
