Shocked The only problem with that DABurleigh is that with something as debateable as Satellite systems. A simple answer is not always the correct answer. Some will always struggle to grasp the techniques necessary to be successful. We can try and give suggestions of the obvious steps to take, and links to more expansive answers. Wink

Hi all

To return to the original subject:

Go to the car boot sale tomorrow and buy a digibox and minidish. I see them regularly for sale and buy them for a friend who is a satellite nut. My rule is never to pay more than £15.00 for a working box (with remote) and £5.00 for a dish. Best makes are Panasonic, then Grundig or Pace, lastly Amstrad.
Rig a pole onto the van or get a tripod from Ebay to mount your dish, buy a satellite finder from Ebay and a 150 watt inverter from Maplin and away you go. You only need the £20.00 Sky card if you want to receive ITV, all the BBC programmes and Sky news, CNN etc can be received without a card. See the site previously mentioned for detailed instructions on setting up.

As an aside and to prove there are no fixed rules on satellite TV reception, this time last week we were watching all the BBC output on the south west shore of lake Maggiore in Italy with no problems using only a standard Sky mini-dish and Lidl FTA receiver. According to all the published information this is well outside the footprint for Astra 2D.

If you already have sky at home,
just take the card with you when you go away.

This will give you all the channels, except the pay per view ones.
Saves giving sky another £20.

Frank

You could always take your home sky box and get all the channels you have at home ( Must be connected to a phone line for 12 months Embarassed Embarassed ).

If you take your box and card from home, you only need a dish, this saves even more.
