Hi guys

other than using it for a garden shed has anyone else got any ideas what i can use a trigano tribute on a fiat ducato 2.3 diesel for????

having being returned to the local fiat garage twice now i am still having the same problem, ie the engine will not start becuase the key code is not being recognised so once again having loaded the van for the weekend we are at home becuase it wont start.

rang the said fiat dealer who stated quite rightly that the warranty only covers me when it is at their garage, they do not and will not run a home service, they very kindly suggested getting the AA out to tow me in which i thought was a brilliant idea except for the fact that becuase of how i park the "shed" it has to be shunted forward and back several times to get it out of the driveway. therefore making it impossible for it to be towed out of the driveway.

So here i am very bitter very annoyed and very sad and wishing against all wishes that i had not bought the "shed" in the first place.

anyone got any ideas i would greatly welcome them

regards

Keith

Hi Chopper

Yes - know how annoying this can be, I had the same problem recently on a 1.9 ducato. Yours may be an entirely different problem but mine was nothing to do with the keys although it showed up as a key-code failure. The local Fiat dealers were of no use whatsoever and the problem was solved eventually by a friendly AA man using the diagnostics programme on his laptop.
Faults showing as key-code problems can emanate from many areas other than the keys/ignition circuits and that's where the difficulty arises. Mine resulted from a loose plug on the bottom of the fuel cut-off valve (the one that cuts off the fuel supply in an accident). The plug wasn't fully engaged and had probably been like that since the van was built, it had only showed up after I changed the battery and probably moved the feed wire slightly causing the plug & socket to loose contact.
I'm usually quite good on vehicle problems but this one had me stumped for a couple of days, just because I thought it must be connected with the key-code when it was nothing of the sort. If you still have problems, call the AA man out, their computer diagnostics system is superb for finding this type of fault.
