on the official Homepage it says:
800 overnight spaces with power hook-up, plus over 1200 spaces without, can accommodate your motor home during CARAVAN SALON. We regret that reservations are not possible. No motor homes will be admitted after 10.00 pm.

hi cephas

no just turn up. it's run with the usual german efficiency. follow the signs until you come to a human being in the road. you will be told where to go - in the nicest possible way of course.

have been twice and spent 2 days at the show both times. couldn't see it all in 2 days either time.

Hello Cephas,

The others are correct, you don't need to pre-book. The only thing I would add is that Smifee was luckier than me. Confused We arrived early (approx 08.15am) to be fairly near the head of the queue to enter. Eventually when the gates were opened, hundreds of motorhomes formed a queue three and four lane widths round the vast camping area. This they told us, was due to lack of slots on the camping area, although everyone could see numerous empty sites.

After a long delay the "efficient" german attendants split up our party of 4 motorhomes and moved us round the perimeter road and outside the site !!! On re-entering, after more queuing, Confused we were parked up on the perimeter road again and told to visit the exhibition then move the motorhomes when we returned in the afternoon.

We did this and upon returning were found slots on the camping site, all in different areas. Sad

Don't let this put you off. It is well worth going. Smile

Idea If you have bikes, there is a good path along the river adjacent the site (200 metres from one corner of campsite) into Dusseldorf. Approx 4 miles.
