Laughing Hi Derek. The MAIN trip switch is the switch for the whole of the Unit. The Magnetec Power convertor certainly does distribute all the power to the coach. They usually include a charging part to the Leisure batteries of around 5amps. All the 12v connections inside the convertor are for the inside such as TV 12volt supply, lights, power to the Fridge/Freezer, Hot water heater, Furnace, Porch lightsand such like. If you have automatic steps? There is usually a light that comes on when they are operated. Beware of this because when they are out. The light is on and is draining the batteries. You can find information about the convertor on the Magnetec Web site and Forum's. There are usually 2 isolation switches for the batteries. One for the coach and one for the Motor. If the battery isolation switch is in the off position? Then that could explain why you are getting no charge to the batteries when on mains. Although you don't mention whether everything else is working or not. If the internal lights are working and the services such as furnace, fridge/freezer. Then the Magnetec is working and should be charging. You should check the fuses in the Magnetec. When the batteries are charged up. They operate all the 12 volt services only. No 110volt or 240 volt except when on the generator or shore power. For 110/240 to work from the batteries you require an Invertor. But that will probably be 240 volts here in the UK

hi Johnsandywhite, thanks for your reply, i cant find the magnetek website/forum could u tell me what it is please? at the moment the mains are on and the battery isolation switch on the dash is off, the 120v stuff is working ie MAIN-things are on so must be working, AC- roof aircon is working, MICRO-microwave is working, GFI- dont know what this stands for, RECEIPT-dont know what this stands for, CONV-dont know what this stands for. the fridge freezer is working but checking this it is only 2 way working ie AC and LPG (another reason why i'll have to sort out an inverter later). all the interior lights work, the furnace works, the outside light works but the control panel fitted in the cooker hood doesnt work ie the test switch which you hold down to see the holding tank levels and the battery condition, the water pump switch, the cooker hood light, the cooker hood fan none work (also the water pump switch in the toilet doesnt work either thats why i only momentary operated the furnace switch), any suggestions? my autoelectrician has asked me to charge up the leisure batteries using a car charger for a couple of days and try again, by the way the battery isolation switch on the dash has a picture of a battery with a circle and diagonal line through it, there is another switch with a picture of a battery on it which is a hold down switch only, i was told that you held this down in extremely cold conditions to utilise all the batteries both vehicle and leisure to aid starting, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. cheers, derek ps how do u do a spellcheck on this, "diagonal" doesnt look right

Laughing Hi Derek. I have looked for the Magnetek Website and it seems they don’t have any support anymore. I will find some more information for you. Wink

MAIN is the main switch for the Magnetek
AC is the Air Conditioner.
MICRO is the Microwave.
The GFI is the Ground Fault Interupter or Ground Fault Circuit.
RECEIPT and CONV I don’t know off hand.

The Fridge/Freezer will only work off AC or LPG (unless it is 3 way – don’t think so) but when it is on LPG it uses the 12 volt supply.
If the main control panel isn’t working then either a fuse has blown in the Magnetek or there is a bad connection. The switch in the bathroom for the pump won’t work if the main water pump switch isn’t working. I don’t think it would have a separate fuse but it may have an inline fuse in the cable somewhere. Keep asking. Wink
The other switch with a picture of a battery on it which is a hold down switch only (MOM) is to allow the Coach batteries to assist the starting of the Motor if the Motor battery is flat.

hi jsw, thanks for your reply. ive been trying to charge up the leisure batteries with a "car " battery charger but its knackered so hasnt worked. i am going to charge up using engine of rv and my autoelectrician is coming back on wednesday to check if they are holding a charge. im pretty much convinced that there is a problem with the power converter and i am going to put a question on the american rv community to see if anyone can help. thanks again,
derek

Laughing Hi delboy57. One thing I forgot to mention. If the Panel isn't lighting up and no power to Hood and fan etc. Then apart from checking fuses. Is the obvious one. The Leisure batteries are flat or dead. Sad
