We are contemplating retirement in just over two years time. That will give us the time to load on our motor caravan and go away for extended trips...weeks or perhaps months.

Just looking for tips as to what everybody does with their house when they go away.

Because we so remote out here in the IOM we have no relations to move in.

On the plus side crime is very low here, however I may have some problems with the insurance.

Any tips please

Can't wait to get away from this cold..brrr

A start might be to read the 'Insurance Information' given under that heading on the left hand side of the page.

Also, check your home insurance policy, many automaticall have a limit of 30 days absence at a time.
Don't know who you're with but you could try Saga, oldies wandering off is very much the trend and they may be able to help. We generally smile nicely at the postie and tell him we're away, so please don't leave anything on the step - and get a friend to pop by every so often to air the house during the 3 weeks or so that we're off at a stretch.
There are 'house-sitting' services available, don't know how much and whether they do IoM.
Cool
