Can anyone explain to me why we have a 40mph limit north & south of Bristol on the M5--- we came along there the other day did'nt see anybody working, is this another ploy to slow the traffic down for no good reason?

Hi there folks,

I tend to agree with "Drummer" these police chief constables are a pour lot. However, I did hear the other day that all money's from speed camera's goes to Mr Gordon Brown and not to the police, can anyone confirm this statement?

The 40 limit is in place south of the Avon bridge because they are setting up a 9 mile contraflow between the bridge and Portishead. This is to enable the building of crawler lanes.
