Hi
We've recently bought a Devon Monte Carlo (Thanks to PAmNPete for their advice/info) and are in the process of planning next years holiday to France.
We're going to stop at the Grand Parc du Puy du Fou, the brochures say you can stay in the adjacent field for free! Has anyone tried it?
We like the look of a campsite near Royan, Le Puits de l'Auture again has anyone been there?
Thanks
Dave

Last month's MMM had an article with pictures about GP du Puy du Fou

Quote..''Motorhomers have a distinct advantage over other visitors as there is free overnight parking on a large field, within a five minute walk of the parc entrance, complete with toilet emptying and fresh water facilities.Pass outs are available so you can return to your'van for a rest and a refresher. There is also a patisserie stand on the field for the almost obligatory provision of fresh bread''...........

Hope this helps.Never been myself.

Nick

we've done it a few times. Each time we've been they have added something new. The last time was the Roman Colosseum and chariot races,Ben Hur eat your heart out!!!
Go to the evening show stunning you can get a translation headset.
In each themed village there are artisans shops selling traditional products.
In the medieval village I bought a decent hiking staff.
I would suggest you buy a 2 day ticket to make the most of things.
Last time we went to the evening show on arrival, booked in the uk on net, and toured the park the following day.
Camping no probs however the overflow field has less facilities than the main area. You will enjoy it the best fireworks I have seen. Horse jousting and superb falcons.

We have been also and had a great day out even though it rained all day. However I did feel that due to the lack of linguistic skills we missed out a bit. Takes a good day to see everything. The shows are absolutely brilliant. Went to furturoscope a couple of days later and thought it wasn't nearly as good.

We live about 10 miles away from Puy du Fou.

We bought a new tumble dryer the other week and the chap who sold it to us (and delivered and installed it) turns out to be the chief technical bod at Puy du Fou. He does the evening shows and he's invited us to go along and have a look in the control room when the show opens again next year.

Cool
