For anyone who's interested in fishing, there's a large fishing complex near us called Pescalis. It has a number of fishing lakes, equipment shop, chalet accommodation, gites and a nice *** campsite with attached restaurant.

Its at Montcoutant, about an hour from La Rochelle and the same from Poitiers.

Details at - http://www.pescalis.com/

SidT and Sunday Driver,
I asked a question last night on the continental touring forum, with the heading do I need a permit. As yet I have received no replies, could either of you give me any information regarding rod licences, permits etc for France, Spain and Portugal.
Thanks in anticipation,

Skippy

Hi Skippy. Not sure. All I know is that about 8 years ago at L'etoile D'argens site I fished the river Argens without a permit. This year when I enquired I was told yes you now need a permit. We weren't staying long so didn't enquire further. Hopefully Sundaydriver will have more info.
Cheers Sid

Evenin' anglers,

Try googling with 'fishing permit france', 'carte de peche' or similar. You should get a good 'bite'. Wink

Sorry, Skippy.

Not an angler myself, although my old next door neighbour back in the UK is dead keen and he's looking forward to visiting us next year Very Happy

I think you have to pay a fee at Pescalis and I've heard its not cheap. We have a small lake in our village and you pay the Mairie 5 euros a year to fish there.
