Does anyone have experience of this levelling aid? It isn't cheap but looks as though it would be very useful, particularly if you need to have your levelling ramps up very high. Perhaps someone knows where I could see this demonstrated so I could see for myself?

If it's the one I think you mean, my friend had one for his caravan.

It's big to store, can be quite awkward to use and is very slow and damned hard work to wind up.

His seized up twice because the square cut thread is quite fine and got gummed up very easily, so eventually he binned it.

Not first hand experience I know, but having seen it I can believe what he said.

That's the one Nick.

I think it's one of those great ideas . . . in theory. Rolling Eyes

In practice it isn't quite so miraculous, and even if it was easy to wind up it takes ages because the wheel is too close and stops you winding round and round. You have to use a ratchet or keep removing and replacing the spanner. Evil or Very Mad

Answer to your next question. Very Happy Yes, my mate tried the battery powered electric drill, and damn near broke his wrist. Shocked His 18 volt drill would just about manage it when fully charged - but only just!!

I'd suggest you find a tugger who has one and quiz him a bit. My information is well meant - but I have never used one myself so it's a bit "second hand".

Thanks Dave, I thought it might be too good to be true! Sad I guess the plus side is I've just saved £80+ on a load of rubbish! Razz

Thanks again for the info.

I don't think it's rubbish Nick, but just not suited for motorhome use . . . not the way we use ours anyway. Wink

It will lift one side of a caravan, but for a motorhome I can't see it being worth the hassle. It would only lift one corner, and with our small van we have a permanent storage "awareness" anyway . . . even if I could be bothered to wrestle with it. Shocked Rolling Eyes
