I am posting this on behalf of one of our members who won the tickets to NEC show (gcsmit)

Thanks to Motorhomefacts my family attended the NEC Show on Wednesday 18 February 2004. We really enjoyed the day, but unless you know exactly what you want to look at it's impossible to see everything in one day. Our one disappointment was the fact that they didn't have a creche this year, so we couldn't leave the kids for an hour and view some of the vans together. Consequently the exhibits took a bit of a hammering as our whole family descended on each van and tested it to the limit. (You could almost follow our progress by the sounding of motorhome horns!) We concentrated on vans suitable for families, i.e. enough bunks and enough belted seats for everyone. Our pictures will reflect this. There were lots of activities for children. Ours went back to the climbing wall again and again.

Positive: Lot's to see and do.
Negative: As usual the food is very expensive. Take a picnic!

I don't think there were many new ideas this year, but I found quite a few I haven't seen before, particularly new layouts for van conversions. The photos will hopefully tell the story further.

Thanks a bunch for a great day out.

Likewise David, thanks for the tickets.

It was very busy yesterday but well worth going we saved about 11 pounds on a Whitter Cycle Rack, 2 pounds on a padded bag for tele, (Box now tatty after 15 years!)

I am sorry, no photos, forgot to charge camera. Enlightend a young lady who told me she had the best internet site for m-homes, and generally got very tired

I tested M6 Toll for 1st time and was very impressed at the time saving and would certainly use it if we were going that way in the van even at a fiver. It was less painful yesterday in the car at 2 pounds

I went to the show yesterday and used the toll, somehow managed to miss it coming back though and just came up the M6.

After a few hours of wandering around at the NEC my head was spinning. Rolling Eyes
Had a few interesting discussions about rear seat belts - like why a van is a four berth with only two seat belts etc... got a few strange answers, none of which, in my view hold water!
Anyway, lots to see and I was impressed with the number of vehicles on show.

Will certainly go again.
Incidentally, does anyone really know why they don't put seat belts in for the number of berths on some models?
