We go to Germany at least twice a year and have done for 5 years. It doesn't matter when you go, there is always plenty of room on the stelleplatz where ever you are and most importantly, it's CHEAP!! Having done europe or at least most of it, Germany is the most motorhome friendly country with the most friendly motorhomers anywhere. Go and enjoy.
Friar
Friar, I understood what you mean, although new to motorhomes I have learnt to check before hand but get the general jist of your post and useful to know
after one year of fulltiming we have been, beside off course Germany, in Tuscanie, Danmark and Sveden.
We found all these countrys verry motorhome friendly and the people helpful.
Wine was best in Tuscanie an beer in Germany.
We try to test England and Wales in June 2006.
Happy new Year,
Klaus.

We have had quite a few holidays touring around Germany & can't ever recalling a problem with finding a stellaplatz full. Maybe we don't go to the popular locations or it could be when we turn up everybody decides to move out . I have had the odd occassion in France with some of the aires being full & had to look for an alternative.
I have found that if you really want to stay at a place that does get crowded then get there around mid morning when people are moving out, if you leave arriving until late in the evening then you have to take pot luck.
