Thanks Gerry
Looks like it's down to Argos unless of course there is one at that price in Currys
Will it be okay to run off the leisure battery direct?

I have a Maxview Free to Air box fitted with our Camos. I think it was £50 but I cant remember. I know it can tune into various satelites though.

I get hundreds of channels but they are no the same as freeview. For example I cant get BBC4 or Dave but just about all the others and loads more.

I would like BBC4 (not bothered about Dave), can it be done or do I need something else?

All of our kit is 12v

Do an automatic transponder scan (channel scan) - bbc4 is available on free to air via your maxview box, but maybe isnt tuned in, especially if you just use the receiver straight out the box without doing a scan first. Maxview send the box out with a selection (not all available) channels on Smile

Dave is subscription only on satellite im afraid... bizarre, but true! Need a sky subscription for that channel. Probebly will lose it off freeview eventually too, just like freeview lost sky sports news, blame Mr M...

So it should be there then?

Will investigate

I have never worried, as far as I'm concerned there is no better smoothed supply than a battery. I run anything rated between 11.5 and 13.5 Volts direct from the 12V supply in the Motorhome, and this includes manufacturers evaluation samples. Never had a failure yet.
I am sure that someone will come along and tell me of the risks, but haven't found a manufacturer yet who agrees that there is a risk. They would be more worried about using a non-approved power supply.

Thanks for all your input but now another question. Anyone used a maxview 12 v receiver with a maxview dish in Spain.
